Diversity & Inclusion at Ballarat Roller Derby League
Ballarat Roller Derby League was founded with a spirit of supporting the diversity of our members and creating a space where everyone is free to be themselves. Our values of Respect, Inclusion, Teamwork and Support underpin and guide everything we do.
Since the beginning of our league we have proudly welcomed members of all genders, sexualities, cultures and ethnicities. We have a strong history of being fierce advocates of our LGBTIQA+ members and community - from supporting Daylesford Chillout Festival to deliver their Carnival day, to many pride events across our 16-year history.
Roller derby is at the forefront of gender diverse inclusion in sport, WFTDA recognising that gender identity or sex does not determine their eligibility to participate in the sport. We proudly support our trans and gender diverse members to skate in the sport they love, where they feel most affirmed.
We have a zero tolerance policy for all our internal and external events for racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, interphobia & queerphobia.
